Estimul'Art Program: Visit to the library-studio of the Frederic Marès Museum

A group of users of Fundació ACE Day Care Unit visited the Frederic Marès Museum library-study this June. It was the last outing of the Estimul'Art program within the 2018-19 academic year.

The group was able to learn about the biography of Frederic Marès and they entered this special room, where the famous sculptor received his visitors, to discover some of his personal objects, historical documentation and part of his sculptural works.

Throughout the academic year users have made a total of 11 cultural visits to different museums in the city such as the Museum of History of Barcelona, the Frederic Marès Museum, the Museum of Performing Arts or the Museums of the Barcelona Football Club and the RCD Espanyol.

In addition, they have also carried out several outings to get closer to classical music, among which stands out the opera afternoon at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona to attend the rehearsal of L'italiana in Algeri.

Estimul'Art Program

The program of activities "Estimul'Art: history, art and Alzheimer", aimed at people suffering from Alzheimer's disease in early stages, is based on a set of scheduled visits to museums and outings to classical music concerts for small groups, usually between 10 and 20 people.

The goal is to stimulate their memory capacity and enhance the emotional part of people with Alzheimer's and other types of dementia. Users can also attend these visits accompanied by family members or caregivers.
