Ace participates at South Texas Alzheimer's Conference

Dr. Mercè Boada, Dr. Agustín Ruiz, Dr. Vanesa Pytel and Dr. Amanda Cano have participated in the South Texas Alzheimer's Conference 2023 (STAC 2023), which was also attended by the CEO of Ace Alzheimer Center Barcelona, Miren Jone Gurrutxaga.

This meeting, which is held annually in Texas, aims to bring together health professionals specialized in the field of dementias to encourage conversation and debate on the latest research findings related to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer's disease.

Ace's team of representatives have actively participated in STAC 2023, through different presentations focused on Ace's model, the importance of research, advances in precision medicine focused on Alzheimer's and the integral care process that defines Ace.

The first part of the Conference, focused on the challenges accross the world related to dementia research and care, featured a symposium in which Dr. Pytel and Dr. Cano. participated. The first spoke about the work and functioning of the Ace Alzheimer Center, while Dr. Cano focused on the "Clinical value of plasma pTau181 in a real-world cohort of a memory clinic".

In the afternoon session, Dr. Agustin Ruiz, Director of Research at Ace, presented "Alzheimer’s Disease risk loci as precision medicine entry points: Targeting rs4985556 locus (Interleukin-34) mechanism of action", focusing on the importance of precision medicine for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of dementia. Finally, Dr. Boada, in her lecture "Comprehensive compassionate care through the dementia continuum" has talked about Ace's comprehensive and integral care model.
