Fundació ACE and UIC Barcelona sign a collaboration agreement for Alzheimer's research


Fundación ACE's CEO Lluís Tárraga and the rector of the International University of Catalonia (UIC Barcelona), Dr. Xavier Gil, have signed an agreement to join actions in the field of academic training and research in Alzheimer's disease. This collaboration agreement, in force for a period of five years from its signing, has as its main objective the coordination of teaching, assistance and research activities between the two entities.

Among the different objectives of this agreement, the aim is to improve teaching quality in the clinical and health training of UIC Barcelona students in terms of aging, Alzheimer's disease and other related dementias, as well as to optimize human and material resources in the research on these disorders.

Joining efforts for Alzheimer's

Mr. Lluís Tárraga, on behalf of Fundació ACE highlighted the importance of joining forces to fight against Alzheimer's and pointed out that this commitment to UIC Barcelona is "a magnificent opportunity to awaken interest in research on the disease in the future professionals of our society. "

For his part, Dr. Albert Balaguer, dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of UIC Barcelona has highlighted the opportunity that this initiative entails "to collaborate in the improvement of the future of those affected and their families, improving the qualification of health professionals at the highest level. "
