The XVIII Fira Gran Foundation Awards reward personalities and organizations that have given visibility to the contribution of the elderly in society or that have promoted measures in favor of healthy aging. This year they reward Dr. Mercè Boada with the FiraGran Foundation Award 2018 in the professional field for her contribution as a neurologist.
These awards have been given within the framework of the celebration of FiraGran 2018, the 20th Hall of the Elderly of Catalonia, which from today until next Saturday May 26 takes place at the Drassanes Reials in Barcelona, with the aim of overcoming the attendance of 35,000 visitors. For four days, the Drassanes of Barcelona become a meeting point for the elderly people of Catalonia who lead an active and participative life and also a showcase for entities, companies and institutions that organize activities and offer services for this year collective.
Visitors can participate in more than 450 free activities that are offered, including a great walk, aimed at people over 60, a master class in music and movement, a sardanista encounter and a coral festival, with 30 formations of all Catalonia. Sexuality workshops, social networks and on the correct use of medicines are also offered, among others.
This year FiraGran will dedicate a part of its programming on Saturday, May 26 to do intergenerational activities, aimed at all ages. There will be a Zumba family dance, aimed at the whole family, craft workshops and a great closing party with performances and snacks.
FiraGran 2018, sponsored by Grupo Mémora, has the support of the Generalitat of Catalonia, through the Department of Health, the Catalan Consumer Agency and the General Secretary of Sports, and the Barcelona City Council and the Diputación de Barcelona.
