The management team of Ace Alzheimer Center Barcelona continues to grow with the aim of positioning the foundation nationally and internationally as a pioneer in the diagnosis, treatment and research of Alzheimer's disease and other dementias.
Anna Riera joins the management of Ace as a deputy to drive this growth. "It is a great personal and professional challenge and a very exciting one. Being part of Ace Alzheimer Center Barcelona, a pioneer in the field of neurodegenerative diseases, is a responsibility to the foundation and to society".
The new deputy director will team up with Miren Jone Gurrutxaga, general director of Ace Alzheimer Center Barcelona. Among other things, Riera has set as her objectives "to promote innovative projects that have a positive impact on the group of users, relatives and caregivers and to support the organisation itself in facing future challenges. I hope to contribute my experience in the knowledge of the health and social sector to advance in an innovative way in the model of care for people".
Anna Riera has been a member of the Unió Catalana d'Hospitals for more than 20 years. In her last stage, as head of the international area of the association, she established and promoted a network of international relations with the aim of making the Catalan system of care for people known to the world, giving opportunities for internationalisation to the associated entities and sharing knowledge and good practices to advance in the improvement of the systems of care for people globally and to advance in the future challenges of society.
She is a doctor and a specialist in internal medicine and has also trained in business management and public administration.
