Barcelona Care: theoretical-practical lectures for caregivers

Barcelona Cuida

Fundació ACE will offer next May two conferences for caregivers of people with dementia at the Barcelona Care Center, a new centre promoted by the Barcelona City Council that aims to showcase all the city's existing care resources and make them available to everyone.

The first talk given by the Foundation, on May 9th, will address the issue of cognitive decline and behavioural changes related to dementia, and will explain useful tools for caregivers in order to redirect them on the day-to-day. In addition, on the May 16th, another theoretical-practical workshop will be given on activities and exercises that caregivers can do at home with their families.

The sessions, given by Marina Guitart and Maribel Vera, professionals of Fundació ACE Day Care Unit, are intended to provide information and action tools to family members of people with Alzheimer's or other dementias. The ultimate goal is to empower the caregiver to become a therapeutic agent.

Place: Barcelona Care Centre (Av. Marqués de l'Argentera, 22).
Date: May 9th and 16th
Time: 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.

Prior registration is required by telephone on 93 413 21 21 (from 08:15 am to 19:00 pm).
